About the book

This book is a collection of short stories written by Deepa Nagarani reflecting on the women who live in and around the city of her residence - Madurai. This book has 13 stories in all. These stories revolve around female protagonists belonging to different age groups, and cultural and educational backgrounds. Every story closely follows how these women negotiate their issues and emerge from their problems. This is Deepa's first short story collection but one doesn't feel that going by the content flow. She has the talent of putting herself in every woman's shoes and telling their stories with absolute honesty and clarity.
