About the book

This book is a collection of essays written by Uma Maheswari reflecting on her teaching experience. This book was written with her experiences on how girl children are treated in the educational platform. The names and characters in the book are slightly changed. She talks about real-time problems in the Indian education system, narrating incidents that she came across at different points in her life.

Our Educational system evaluates children's talents only on the basis of marks. Natural Education metamorphosed into a mechanical 'system' years ago. Students are treated like robots. It is a shame that no one is thinking of the children's psychological problems during this critical period. The problems of girl children, children with special needs, street children, single-parent children, etc., are aplenty. There are thousands of children out there in our educational society like those in my books. Our little guidance and care will bring humongous change in their life. This book strives to point out that.
