About the book
This book contains seven short stories written by the senior author M A Susila in various print and online magazines from 2013 to 2025, which have not been compiled until now. Since she wanted all the reconstructive short stories she had written so far to be compiled together, four earlier short stories including 'Devandhi' have also been included in this collection. Equal space has been given in this compilation to both categories: modern realism and mythological reconstruction.
About the author
A writer and translator, M A Susila retired as a Tamil Professor at Fatima College in Madurai. Her literary contributions include four short story collections, three novels—'Yaathumaagi', 'Thadangal', and 'Anju Thingalil Munjuthal Pizhaiththum'—six essay collections, and 14 translations including Fyodor Dostoevsky's 'Crime and Punishment', 'The Idiot', 'White Nights', and 'The Insulted and Humiliated'. For her translation of the novel 'The Idiot', she was awarded three prizes in 2013: the Canada Literary Garden Award, the Nalli-Thisai Ettum Award, and the G.U. Pope Award presented by the SRM University Tamil Academy. In 2022, she received the Translation Award presented by the Coimbatore Vijaya Readers' Circle.
